How To Get Your Customers To "Like You" on Facebook

...Your Own Advice.

Have you been following your own advice? Have you made statements and/or suggestions to friends, associates, and the like regarding business and marketing, yet have a hard time following your own advice? It happens to the best of us. Anything we present to others, we should also present to ourselves first and foremost. Objectively speaking, its easy to provide advice, especially when we are not affected by the decisions made, but having gone through experiences which then can be offered up as an example is much more affective. Until next time, Take care.

Patience.

You just started your small business exactly three months ago and for some reason no one's calling. The phone hasn't rang, no emails, no contact whatsoever about your services/products. You've done all you can to market your services/products using direct mail, FB, Twitter, and even cold calling. At times things don't go the way you planned it, you hit a bump in the road... O.K. sometimes a big bump, but nevertheless you remain hopeful and persistent. If you love what you do and you're confident in your ability to provide prospective clients with the best service/product, then don't fret too much. Be patient and continue to market, don't change a thing unless there is a better way. Remember, true success takes time and you appreciate it more in the long run. Take care and keep trucking.

Its Not About What You Want...

Some of us who go after clients always seem to think that its about getting a great client that understands us and will give us as much work as we can possibly handle. We forget at times to think of the client and what it is that they are looking for. Your future clients are looking for a company that knows what they need to help grow their business. Essentially, their goals become our goals, because if they succeed, we succeed. We should become more client focused. We need to anticipate their needs by doing research on the prospective client as well as their competition. We need to listen more and be attentive to their business needs. It's really not about us and how our business can grow, as much as it is about how we can provide the best service to our clients as well as our future clients, so that everyone involved can be more successful. Take care.

Market, Market, and by the way... Market.

Do your best at promoting what you do and how well you do it. Some of us are a bit shy when it comes to talking about ourselves, but how else can people know what we do and what we have to offer? Every chance you get, talk about what you do, hand out business cards, blog about it, post it on Twitter and Facebook etc. Let no opportunity go by without you mentioning what it is that you do. For motivation, read incessantly about what you do, connect with others who do the same and don't be afraid to ask another on how they market themselves. Also, read blogs and research companies that focus on marketing, especially those that are not afraid to share their methods and strategies. Push the envelope at every turn to get the word out there. The same love that you have for what you do should also be displayed when marketing, and quite honestly... that's the easy part. Don't forget to seize your opportunity.

Partnering Up.

Sometimes you can't do it alone. There are times when someone else has a better grasp on the subject at hand. There are times when we have to concede. People who can add to where we lack with regard to our business decisions are the people we need on our team. Every team member has a particular skill that they excel at; let them shine. Choosing partners is a bit tricky at times, being able to get along as well as comprising on decisions, and most importantly presenting the team as a united front. The latter part is extremely invaluable to the team. No matter what happens behind closed doors, once the team steps "into the light" they are one force... a force to be reckoned with. If your are in a team, take note of yourself and what you bring to the table as well as the other members off your team. Make sure that you are indeed a team... a united front.

Business As Usual...I Think?

Everyone wants to be a businessman/woman, at least that's what it seems to me, even me. What is it about wanting to have your own business? Some say it's for the freedom of paving your own way and not being told what to do. And others say it's an opportunity to do exactly what they want to do with regard to their profession. Many of us don't realize the amount of responsibility it takes to govern a small business. And what of finances? Accounting for every penny spent and being able to budget accordingly. Just incorporating your business name alone can have you frazzled. There are certain small steps that have to be taken in order to get the ball rolling, and some of us usually miss the mark due to our excitement. If you have any intention to start a small business please check out www.nolo.com. Their article on starting a business is just what's needed to get started on the right path.
